What about the studies that show much lower incidence of heart attacks in men who donate blood?

My brother used to take Metformin for few years and he had good results. But due to some liver problem he changed to Glypizide and then after he never had the same results that he achieved while he was on Metformin.
When you say he had “good results” do you simply mean his blood sugar was kept under control or do you mean there were general anti-aging/positive results as measured by blood tests or other clear signs that Metformin was doing more good than just controlling blood sugar?
April 28, 2010 at 12:39 am #4266GardinerMemberSo there’s no confusion, I think the important quantity is the “elemental” iron involved. I assume you weren’t taking 325mg of elemental iron. I have two iron supplements in front of me. They both have 18 mgs of elemental iron but one is from 90 mgs of “Iron Amino Acid Chelate” and the other is from 360mg Iron Protein Succinylate. As both claim to be 100% of the daily requirement, if one was taking 325mg of elemental iron it would be nearly 18x the daily requirement and two tablets would be 36x!

Does anyone know at what dosage of Isocort does it start to become suppressive?
I believe the adrenals normally produce the equivalent of 20mg of hydrocortisone so the final dosage listed on the protocol would be a complete replacement.

Based on all the above, sounds like this would be a bad idea for a CFS patient, true?

I have the same thing and this can be low in functional b-12 deficeincy which can result from severe hypothyroidism. Low adrenals, excessive fish oils, or vitamin K deficiency may be a factor in low platelets
But other than possible slow clotting or bruising would one expect a low Platelet count by itself to have any physical or mental symptoms?
November 9, 2009 at 4:17 pm #3573GardinerMemberAll I know (which you probably already know) is that the beans convert to (or increase…not sure which) into dopamine. How that ties in with adrenal fatigue I’ll leave to others.
November 7, 2009 at 1:08 am #3881GardinerMemberGeno,
Thanks so much for the generously long description. Although you didn’t specifically state it, it sounds as if you are feeling much better. Congrats and again many thanks for your opinion.
