Hey, I noticed Dr. M hasn’t posted in a few months. I haven’t really been looking at this site as much so if it’s already been posted, I apologize. Where is the Maestro of the Metabolism? The Helper of Hypos (-thyroid, -gonads, -chondriacs haha)? The Teacher of Testosterone and the Elicitor of Endocrinology? The Dominator of Disease, the Decreaser of Depression, The Lazarus for our Libido, and the Rejuvenator of Renal Function?

I miss the guy. I hope he’s teaching at a med school somewhere so the next generation of internal medicinists will have a step-up on the current ones.

I am sure he is busy maybe working on his book or seeing all the people I send to him.

I asked that question of HAN a couple months ago and was told that Dr. M. is writing his book. I sure miss all of his amazing advise, but will be really happy to read his book- so that’s A ok, too!

Well I can’t wait for the book! Anyone have any idea when it is scheduled for release? I might buy several copies to distribute to my various doc’s that got me into this mess to begin with. 🙂

IDK but I hope it becomes staple med-school literature. I’ve never met anyone who has a better understanding of the endocrinological system than he does. IDK how he can reply to posts so quickly in a “off the top of my head” manner that yields results that are 500x more informative than any doctor I’ve ever seen.

What is he writing his book on? Does it focus on any particular area?

I think its about dr stuff. I mean, what else would a dr write about anyway?;)

He is defining the Mind. I cannot possibly summarize it justly. He gave us some sneak peaks a while back on MESORX forum i believe. HAN or Pgamer could be more specific. The concepts he writes about seem like they should be common sense, but they aren’t. Yet. Hope my department makes a course out of it.

I’ll be back soon. Probably by December.

My workload increased brutally in the past two months. It surprised me that the hours I work currently are more than when I had three full time jobs years ago. Thus, the work on this website had to be temporarily stopped so I can get what rest I can in the remaining time I have.

The biggest problem and detour was getting up to speed with my computer programming skills and rewriting the program I wrote 10 years ago to do my progress notes so it can interface with a new computerized medical records system at the mental health system I work with that makes up the bulk of my practice. Unfortunately this was and is a huge task – as any computer programmer can tell you – easily a full time job on top of what I already was doing. The new computerized medical records system, unfortunately, is primitive, inefficient, slow, with startling design flaws (so I cross my fingers that the system doesn’t grind to an unworkable halt). It is more primitive than the systems friends and I developed over 20 years ago when we started a medical information systems company that designed systems for doctors. It is another case of programmers not bothering to work with clinicians to design a medical information system. Unfortunately, it is the best of the systems designed specifically for mental health systems – where the administrative red tape is unbelievably extreme. I hope our IT people can hammer on the company that developed the system so they can improve it. The second biggest problem and biggest headache is that the data entered by others is incomplete. Thus the second task is working out all the problems in workflow so there can be some semblance of efficiency, and updating all the data over the next several months. Again, this was and is a huge job and my hands are full this month. The good news is that things are starting to clear up, giving me more time.

The second bit of good news is that I now have a much better grasp of psychoneuroimmunology. There is a huge literature I still have to cover. But what I know is mind-boggling and game changing. And I’ve made advances to what is in the current literature – essentially piecing concepts together into a much more coherent framework and understanding that I have not seen from anywhere. Thus, I’m pretty stoked.

Wow, on top of everything you are also a computer programmer and write your own medical software… impressive! Just out of curiosity, what language is it written in? The reason I ask is because I am a C# programmer myself.

Did anyone notice Dr. M wrote “I’ll be back” responding to the original question of…”Where is Dr. M? Maybe us forum site member’s, and/or his patient’s can give him the nickname “THE TERMINATOR” like the action hero ARNOLD SWHARZENEGGER, who’s famous movie line was… “I’LL BE BACK !” as Dr. M is a HERO to me and many other’s in the sense that he is such a GREAT PHYSICIAN and he does “TERMINATE” life threatening symptoms and illness’ for his patients, it is my personal opinion that the disabling and horrible way I was suffering from various medical symptoms, after approximately 2-3 months of him treating me and his diagnosis/treatment plan he prescribed for me has been truly lifesaving for me and I feel better than I had ever felt in the previous 13 or more years. I view his treatment of my health as “A MIRACLE !!!!!!”:D
