Take AM dose upon waking. If you get up at 7AM don’t wait til 8AM. I leave it on my nightstand along with my Armour and take as soon as I get up.
Yes you are screaming for HC but seem to constantly refrain from taking it.

just work your way up slowly. if you feel good stop where you are. i was only taking 15mg initially at 5/5/5 doses. recently i have gone to 20 at 10/5/5. this is the first time i have gotten up to 3 grains and i am feeling really good today. i am hungry, alert and just very happy and content. i am playing sport hard as well and i havent had any dips because of it.
this is the one bad thing i do in my life – play sport too hard, but i play for teams and i love it. it would kill me to rest for a long time. any way i am doing it my way and currently things look good. temps are up as well – getting near optimum 37c.

I myself love tennis and due to the hashimoto’s and adrenal issues it has ruined my body. Made my muscles weak, damaged my nerves which i still have unhealed nerve damage in my arms/back and ruined my thinking/memory, motivation, energy and so forth. Now things are starting to improve and i would like to be able to play tennis again regularly without getting tired and starting to get coaching and possibly play in tournaments. These are among some of the things i want to do. Also travel overseas, skydive, get into investment/buying a home etc…
Right now on day one of HC i feel good. Energy is so much better. I feel so much more calm and relaxed like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Its easier to think and read/comprehend things and i have more motivation. Also no sugar cravings like i have been having till now which is great and more interest in the opposite sex. This is only day one i might add.
I have been having so much trouble comprehending what people are saying and putting this into perspective and forming a mental picture it is so so frustrating for me and HC helped this right away which i’m so glad.
My temps in the morning today we’re: 96.4F and now in the evening it is 96.2F so im still hypo due to the adrenal issue but need to build on the HC slowly and temps and symptoms will subsequently improve.
January 20, 2010 at 2:23 pm #3697marsaday1971Membermake a record of your temps so you can see at a glance what is happening. i use the dr rind metabolic temp chart.
you want to have 2 reading per day. the first is the basal on waking (shows how thyroid is doing) and then the average of 3 temps in the day (shows how adrenals are doing plus thyroid).
this way you get to see your body getting stronger/warmer if temps stabilise around a certain temp. if this temp is low (which it probably will be) you then know to increase the thyroid meds. after this the temps may fluctuate again and may keep doing so, until you increase hc. you will stabilise again and then you may need to increase thyroid.
this is why you need to chart the tems as it shows what is happening inside the body.
my temps are stable and increwasing at 3 grains. they have still stayed stable after the increase and so i know the 20mg is probably working well for me, so no increase needed.
basal temp is still 97.5 and i think it would be best around 97.8. Average temp in day is now hitting 98.5 so near perfect there.

These are my latest thyroid results:
T.S.H: < 0.04 (0.5 – 4.5) mIU/L
FT4: 17 (10 – 20) pmol/L
FT3: 5.3 (3.5 – 6.0) pmol/LI think they look pretty good no? I didn’t check RT3 though…
This is on 100-125mcg of T4 and 30mcg of T3 per day. Both synthetic. I am finally feeling more stable and better with this combination. My doctor mentioned the TSH is too low but i told him infact it should be suppressed <1 to relieve myself of symptoms. Because in hashimoto's disease the immune system is constantly attacking the thyroid and if the thyroid is active and the T.S.H is increased this will continue to produce symptoms thats why the T.S.H should be suppressed. He agreed. Although my doctor is a lot more open minded than other doctors.
What i think i have also like a lot of people is digestive issues due to the hypothyroidism and as hardasnails mentioned that people with low cholesterol sometimes experience chronic hidden low grade infections within the body. So i’m looking into getting some sonic cholesterol and seeing if this helps relieve my symptoms. It’s probably the reason why i still don’t feel very hungry during the day and my adrenals are flagging due to the hidden digestive issues.
HC is helping but this might get to the core of the issues ill see.
January 21, 2010 at 10:50 am #3698marsaday1971MemberStopped feeling too good last night. i have noticed this week my body is working really well and then i take hc and it takes me down a bit, as if it is making me ill.
i dont know if my body is now starting to produce more cortisol because the thyroid is working better.
last night i took my hc before football and i added an extra 5mg to stress dose. i think this made me worse and i had difficulty breathing properly.
i really have no idea what has happened to me on this one, but today i am going to see if 3 x 5mg makes any difference. nothing is showing up in my tempos which have been between 98.2-98.3 over the last 5 days (day temps).
January 21, 2010 at 11:57 am #3699marsaday1971Memberjust been reading some info my a Dr Skinner in the UK. he says adrenals will come back as soon as thyroid gets what it wants. So i wonder if this is what i have been experiencing in the last few days.
Anyone heard about this subject before?
January 21, 2010 at 6:11 pm #3700marsaday1971Memberok something has happened. i feel pretty crap right now. tired, unsteady and weak. i have taken 5mg of hc and that makes a total of 15mg for the day. it looks like i need more, not less and so i will see what happens when i try 25mg tomorrow.
There was me doing really well thinking i had this licked.

feel ok now, but a bit rocked from what has happened in the last day. i am taking 10mg hc at noon and then 5mg at 4pm. looks like my body has gotten used to the hc and needs it more than ever. also i am taking more armour and so this puts more demands on the adrenals.
i will update as i go on.

i have taken 20mg today now and i feel a bit more balanced.
taking 10mg at noon today made no difference so i am going to look into dosing 4 times a day as opposed to 3. = 7.5/5/5/2.5
i think my body needs small and often doses.
January 23, 2010 at 7:31 pm #3674wonderingMemberDosing should follow optimal normal rhythm..i think you will get better results if largest dose is 1st. But do not go over 10mg at one time.

2.5mgAnd then stick with it… do NOT change every other day..Your body needs regular support not to be jerked around every other day. You will have good days and bad days, but Adrenals take time…I needed over a year to get really better, so dont exxpect it to be a in a week and then switch things up cause it didnt happen in a week.
Give it a chance.

January 23, 2010 at 10:31 pm #3703marsaday1971MemberI didn’t know why i became ill again this week and so i had to change something. before that i was doing 10/5/5. however i play sport and i know i will stress my adrenals, so it is a fine balance between dosing correctly and exercise.
i feel much better today and am taking 22.5mg now. i am doing this 7.5/7.5/5/2.5. i think the last dose at 8pm is good for me. Also i think my adrenals prefer smaller doses and so 7.5mg is the max for me.
I have really gotten well in the last week since going up to 3 grains. i am holding for the next 3 weeks now and i may increase again.
I am getting more knowledgeable all the time.
January 23, 2010 at 11:47 pm #3675wonderingMemberBe careful with exercise intensity. Going up on Thyroid caan be a strain at first. Hold on that HC dose and see how you do…it may be your sweet spot. 25mg was for me, but we are all different. Even though 25mg was good for me, still look LONG time to get better.
I would also recommend a good multivitamin and maybe some extra Vitamin C every now and then…thats good for your adrenals.
Are you gonna get other hormones tested now while on HC and Thyroid? DHEA may be low, that is an easy one if so.

January 24, 2010 at 12:50 pm #3704marsaday1971Memberbasal temp 97.8! never been so high, but i did wake at 11am, so that may be why. a good sign though.
i take vit c, magnesium, potassium, sea salt.
i was taking dhea 25mg a day, but i came out in spots 3 weeks ago. so stopped taking it. the spots went 8 days later. not sure if i should start again on them.
i know the testosterone level will be low on the hc as i had it tested last time on it.
i am reading the stres effect by weinstein and this is a good read.
