What is more important? Test:E2 ratio or total E2?
My current blood tests are as fallows:
Testosterone 860 250-1100 ng/dL
Testosterone Free 184 35.0-155.0 pg/mL
Estradiol 53 13 – 54 PG/ML
My E2 ratio is 16.2:1 (Test:E2). It seems kind of low to me despite near high levels of E2.
Rumor has it I should be at a ratio of 20:1 to 30:1 yet my estradiol levels are at the top of the range.
I am not showing signs of GYNO but do have Anxiety and depression.
September 7, 2010 at 4:44 am #4654saltimbanc0MemberProgeterone seems to be the way to go for this initially (transdermal cream) or failing that in trial then SERMs but with a out of range Testo i dont think you want to be tht heavy handed yet. Are you taking test or prohormones?
Low cort could also account for those symptoms but would come with fatigue and other problems,
September 7, 2010 at 12:38 pm #4652FiguringMemberIt depends a lot on SHBG.

September 13, 2010 at 5:39 pm #4651JohnnyMemberWhy are you using Clomid? 🙂
I consider starting treatment myself to see if it can raise my testosterone and cure me for my symptoms.
September 13, 2010 at 8:11 pm #4655saltimbanc0MemberWhat were the initial reasons for taking clomid to increase things? Your FHS, LH and test were all pretty good prior to that. Now just seems you have built up the test only to have it negated by problems caused by high estrogen?

just started up on armidex for that estrogen 🙂
My main reason was to see what it feels like. As an experiment. Ive had some severe anxiety the past few years in my life. I must say I do feel better; it may just be from me being able to eat more, who knows. I feel more confident and in the mood to actually lift. The past two years of my life have been quite catabolic and I plan on packing on some lbs this winter.
September 21, 2010 at 3:40 am #4647AnonymousGuestI’m starting to learn about testosterone… and its a prevelege to be here I learn a lot from here. But I’m still confuse in the ratio. Basically, what’s the normal ratio for this?
September 22, 2010 at 11:30 am #4653Houston1970MemberGuess what my alleged bipolar disorder, resolved with Testopellets and armorthyroid. Psychiatry is a joke! Unlike A mood disorder Endocrine dissorders actual have blood test that can prove illness and dossing that is based on measurment. At Caltech they say science without measurment is not Science. Again please do yourself a favor and see an Endocrine doctor.
On Hormones depression resolves without agitation it’s a miracle. Most of went to a doctor because we did not feel well we where sick not crazy. Psychatry should be ashamed of itself, how many lives have they destroyed. Tragic
April 12, 2011 at 11:14 am #4656simadiMemberI have seen where Mariano stresses the importantance of the T:E ratio. If someone’s total or free check raises substantially through the use of TRT, & their E2 stays in the 15-25 pg/ml range….I guess, how important is this ratio. I have an E2 of 25 post TRT (14 pre-TRT). My Total check is currently high at 1500 ng/ml compared to 400 pre-TRT. I listen to plenty of folks here speak about the 15-25 range on E2 but this ignores the T:E ratio?
