I went to the ER Room tonight because I was having the worse chest pain that I have ever experienced in my life. I could barely move..it was so bad. Of course the doctor I saw could not tell me what was causing it. I think it was stress, because I have been stressed lately the most I have ever been in my life. He drew labs to check for possible blood clots and said they were fine.

I am curious if anyone knows anything about these different views drawn. If you do..would you share with me any thoughts you may have that you think I should look at further. I understand you are not diagnosing nor treating by sharing your thoughts. I just don’t understand these labs very well.

    Thank You,
    Shannon

I would have this happen to me Dr.’s were not much help I ended up seeing a Psychiatrist that told me it was Stress and had me go see a Therapist. Later on we found my hormones were low but in the normal range it was when I started to learn to relax learned this in Therapy. And I started to treat my low Sex Hormones and Thyroid with Adrenals this I got over this. Your blood labs don’t show the true picture you need a morning fasting Cortsiol blood test if this is below 15 then a 4x’s in a day Saliva test and a Full Thyroid set of labs.

    • Thyroid Panel doing the following labs.
    * TSH But this lab is only for diagnosis of hypopituitary, NOT to diagnose or dose your hypo by.
    * Free T4 and Free T3 (note the word “free”)
    * Total T4 and T3
    * Thyroid Antibodies (anti-TPO and TgAb. YOU NEED BOTH.)
    * Ferritin (and do stress FERRITIN, not just RBC)
    * B-12 and Folic Acid level RBC.

I suffered from a child hood emotional trauma that I carried around with me for most of my life. The stress of this did in my hormones Dr.’s say no but I believe this to be true. I treat them and feel better.

I really appreciate you taking the time pmgamer18, to share your personal story and give me your advice. I really felt it was stress. I have never had chest pain like this before. I think my body has been impacted from me just being overwhelmed lately. I have had a trauma occur in my life recently, which has hurt me greatly and really broke me down. I know in result, this has not helped my hormone levels, which I already have issues with.

Being a graduate student in Clinical Psychology, I am aware with clients how stress can affect an individual. What annoys the heck out me..is the fact that when I go to most doctors, they don’t want to really look into how ones Thyroid and Adrenals are affected when an individual is hit with a great amount of stress. I agree with you that it is good to learn how to deal with stress, and I think this is a personal area I can grow further in. I have a phone consult with a Physician on the 26th of this month for a f/u. I will see if I can get these labs done that you suggested, along with what he suggests. I know something is different within my body, because I feel different. We know our bodies best!

I am currently checking out a few Alternative Medicine Schools to take classes on the side, because I think this will really help me personally and as a Neuropsychologist. I want to be able to understand the body’s messages to determine the root cause of symptoms and perform effective corrections. Therapy help’s individuals, but I truly believe that the root cause of the issue needs to be addressed, and many times for individuals; hormones, and both the structure and functioning of the brain, works off of each other, along with how they are balanced emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

I pray all works out for you but please with your knowledge don’t try to treat your self. I fee you had a Panic Attack I had them for yrs. nothing worked Xanax took the edge off and helped some but it was just a band aid. When I started to treat my low hormones this went away and every once in a wile I will have a low of stress in my life and this eats up my meds. My Daughter found a lump in her breast and is in the process of getting this checked but still it is putting a lot of stress on us and I can feel that dam panic feeling coming back. So I run to my Dr. get labs and hope for the best this will mean a change in meds but I have learned to spot this before it gets bad.

I have done this for yrs to help me relax go to this link and try it it works and you can get so good at it you can do it any where.
I can stop the panic attack doing this and on nights I can’t fall to sleep doing this laying down puts one to sleep.

Thank You..I completely understand what you are saying. I will check the link out.

I will also keep your daughter in my prayers. I know how you must be feeling right now. I am experiencing the same thing with my mother, which the doctors are sending to a surgeon.
