Is there any possibility that this stimulant is “easier” on the HPA axis than adderall or perhaps even caffeine?

I have occasionally used it in place of adderall and it actually works well for ADD.

How is it different? Or, how does it stimulate without being a typical stimulant?

Provigil (Modafinil) IS a stimulant. Studies have shown it acts as a dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It increase norepinephrine and dopamine – albeit at milder levels than other stimulants.

It additionally increases hypothalamic histamine signaling. This is different from other stimulants. Histamine is also an excitatory signal in the brain, which contributes to wakesfulness as does norepinephrine. It may not be a useful signal to increase since it can potentially trigger an inflammatory cascade.

Since it is relatively mild compared to Methylphenidate or Amphetamine, it is “easier” on the HPA Axis, though has the same risks.

At about $9 a tablet, it is a very expensive medication. One can get two Viagra pills for the price of one Provigil.

And have more fun with the former and a willing partner.

At $9 a tablet, is it any wonder that the FDA refused to consider Provigil as a treatment to be used in children?

I can recommend a reputable pharmacy (Provigil) mega-pharm.net I received the order and it was on time and the pills work great.
