    Hello guys,

    Remember this thread?

I have really struggled this past year in particular, with no help so far from any doctors.

Story short, I have elevated and rising ferritin. My issues have been mostly extreme fatigue, tiredness, unrefreshed sleep, ache in body, low libido and reduced erectile quality.

When I first wrote the thread I mentioned that I sometimes experienced days or as long as a complete week where I felt completely normal, but then suddenly, bam, the symptoms would come back.

The last week I have been feeling much better than usual and prior to that I have had longer periods of well-being as well.

Still, I don`t feel cured at all since it still comes and go.

Is there any explanation for this that could help diagnosis?

I`m seeing my new familiy doctor soon and would like to prepare in advance.

    Thanks very much,

    Johnny

You don’t provide any lab test results nor your age, but since I have had very similar symptoms that you describe, I would like to help you by sharing my recent experience with Dr. M and the help and guidance I received from him. I am 46yrs old, and like you suffered severely with most of the symptoms that you describe, as I said. I am not a doctor, just a member on this site. I went to go see Dr. M back in August, complaining of severe and chronic fatigue, insomnia, no motiviation, sleeping until 2,3,4, in the afternoon. brain fog, memory problems, and on and on. He had me do some lab work and he tested me for “ALOT” of things, which no other doctor had ever tested me for in the past (which were MANY !!”) he diagnosed me and put me on a treatment plan of some Rx meds and nutritional supplements. I have learned from him that what we eat ‘PLAYS A MAJOR ROLE IN HOW WE FEEL AND FUNCTION !!!! I know this may not be the advice you are looking for, but Dr. M is a highly educated Genous of a Physician!! His treatment plan that he prescribed for “me” worked and helpe me greatly. I have now been a patient of his for about 3 1/2 months and I am on the road to recovery from the disabling symptoms that I had, and believe it or not, ‘NUTRITION” and the food we put into our bodies, DOES PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND FUNCTION OF VERY IMPORTANT CHEMICAL MESSENGERS, HORMONES, AND ALL KINDS OF THINGS OUR BODIES AND MINDS NEED IN ORDER TO SLEEP, WORK, FOCUS, SEX, ETC. ETC… So Johnny, my advice to you would be that since you are going to go see your new Primary Care Physician, you more likely than not will be given just another “Band – Aid” prescription medication to “Hurry up and get you out of his office” so that he can see the next patient waiting in his waiting room.” Many Doctor’s DO NOT advice you on what to eat etc…… Most of their training and schooling is NOT on nutrition and/or advising patients on “Preventative Medicine” and one reason in my opinion is that they don’t do that because 9 times out of 10, patients WILL NOT ADHERE TO THEIR ADVICE, and they will continue eating ”JUNK’ which in turn leads to more and continuous medical problems in the future. After about 10 years and seeking medical help from at least 20 different types of “Doctor’s” and being prescribed at least SIXTY (60) various types of Rx medications all the while ME NOT GETTING BETTTER, but eventually ‘WORSE” as years went by, I finally went to go see Dr. Mariano, which I finally feel good about and am now recieiving “The Best Medical Treatment” I have ever had in my entire life, I am confident and happy to know that I am being treated by one of the Best Doctor’s around! Since I went to go see Dr. M, my syptoms are going away over time, as I adhere strictly to “Doctor’s Order’s” and my future regarding how I feel and function and my Quality of Life no doubt will be much better that the living hell that my symptoms were putting me through. Good luck Johnny, and try to learn as much as you can about food and nutrition and how it may help or harm you. If you don’t want to study up on your own and if you are desperate, like I was, I would highly recommend that you consider setting up an appointment with Dr. M. Many people come from all over the USA and the world to see him. Although I a unfortunate to have had my life ruined by the loss of my career and I am now “Poor” and on SSI Disability and Medicare/Med-Cal, I consider myself lucky because I only live 30 minutes away from Dr. M’s office, in Central California!!!

    Geno,

    Thanks for writing:)

I did provide several lab results in the thread I linked to in the beginning of the post.

The main value I`ve been hung up on is the elevated and rising ferritin.

Regarding nutrition, one could always improve, but I feel that I`m far above the average joe in that department. I eat very healthy and rarely eat junk. That is one of the reasons that this has been so frustrating for me. I`ve done all the right things, but still felt like hell.

I`m glad that you got the help you deserve and need. Seems like you`re on the right path. Dr. M sounds like an excellent doctor that actually wants to help the patient. One could wonder if that is a rarity these days.

If I were richer I would have jumped on the first plane to the USA to visit him:p

    Kind regards,

    Johnny
