Hi,
I will know by the end of the week if my ferritin after 3 months of iron supplementation and iron rich food like liver and clams.
My ferritin was 30 last time it was checked. I’m getting more and more twitching, buzzing, itching and restless legs since I increased my throid meds to a close to optimal dose and ferritin are vitamin d are the only thing I don’t have under control yet.
From what I’m experiencing right now, I’m guessing it didn’t budge a bit. Hope I’m wrong though.
I want to ask my doc about iron IV if my ferritin isn’t moving up. I have a document explaining that severe RLS symptoms and twitching can develop with a ferritin level under 50 or even higher and I will show it to him. I don’t know if I’ll have to be referred to an hematologist or not.
I do wonder about the risks of infusion, I do not have anemia, could it cause imbalances in other minerals or any other things? What should I ask for & what dose?
Thx!

When getting the proper iron absorption and metabolism one needs to have all the co factors available
Vitamin A
b-12
folate
b-6
lysine
zinc
copper
Proper thyroid for intestinal uptake
Vitamin EI am finding people that take large amounts of vitamin D can cause depletion of vitamin A (also vitamin K) which could affect iron metabolism. I am still researching clinical studies supporting this observation.
