Hey all! Nice to see some familiar names here 🙂
I suffer from hypogonadism and of courses everything that entails and from chronic severe anxiety that may or may not be related to my hormonal issues. I hope to learn a lot here. It’s nice to be on board! Oh and a thank you to Phil for pointing me this direction!!

You need to look at why you are low and if you have other hormone imbalances not being caught by traditional dr’s. When looking at cortisol test unless you are checking for low or high cortisol levels then 24 hour urine will not give a true pics. It only gives the average but if you have 2 high and 2 low levels then this will equal out to average levels. Where a saliva test will should you the levels through out the day time at different points. One also needs to look closely at the thyroid in many aspects as 80% of traditional Dr’s over look sub clinical hypothyroidism. You also need to look at sleep patterns, current relationships, nutritional balance which comes from a nutrient dense diet, practice stress management as well as spiritual aspect of your being (if you have nothing to believe in then what hope is there?. The solution to the problem is looking at the person as a whole and not just bits and pieces like traditional western medicine does. I love the eastern approach to medicine as they look at how the systems are interlinked with current symptoms. I am not knocking any ones DR but I want to open ones mind to learn how to think out side the box from standard ways.August 17, 2009 at 6:26 pm #3218skywalker45MemberThanks for the welcome HAN as well as the other information. Eastern medicine is fascinating and I couldn’t agree with you more. Unfortunately no one bothered to find out why I was hypogonadal so I’m in that boat now but I have found a new doctor who appears to be top notch. My first appointment with him is Sept. 4 so hopefully we can get this stuff in order.

Give him a chance and if he is not your cup of tee then back to the drawing board. After age of 30 there is no looking back for TRT, but one has to look at other hormones to make sure that once on TRT there are no other surprises. We have commenced people on TRT and then with in 8 weeks there where other hormonal imbalances which were uncovered. Once dr start people on TRT they just assume everything is fine, but the people end up feeling like crap with no explaination other then depression. We have started people on cortef 6 weeks later they revealed hidden hypothyroidism. Dr marianos method of adrenals, thyroid, Sex hormones, gh can not be further from the truth.
