Not sure if this topic should be here, but here goes…..

I’m on T3 only. At one point, was up to 175 mcgs. I thought that might be the reason my BP was up a bit, I was hot most of the time, etc….
So, I’ve lowered the T3 to 125 mcgs and might go down a bit more.
I’ve also been lowering the HC from sometimes 30 mgs to 22.5. Not all at once, but dropping it 2.5 mgs and holding for a week, then dropping another 2.5 mgs a week later.

Is heat intolerance a symptom of low thyroid?
I know it can be a symptom of low sodium, too. I supplement with sea salt and take slow-K potassium. It just doesn’t seem to be getting better.

    Thanks for any input.

Have you tested aldsoterone and renin levels? You might have hypoaldosteronism, especially when taking HC which can lower other adrenal hormones. (Though it’s not my case, my aldosterone is good with HC, but DHEA dropped)

Heat intolerance may be a symptom of both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.

In addition, it occurs when there is excessive stress/norepinephrine signaling. This occurs, for example, when one has excessive use of stimulants (e.g. amphetamines), caffeine.

Additionally, it may occur in conditions which limit sweating – such as in certain skin conditions or the use of medications which block acetylcholine.
