I am wondering if anyone here is using T3 only for their hypothyroidism?
I have tried a australian compounded thyroid which basically didn’t work, then tried a slow release T3 that was completely bunk also. I cannot believe they are selling this crap, my temps we’re constantly 35C! now when i take 50mcg t4, 10mcg t3 synthetic in the morning i am at least 36C.
Now i am trying a mix of levothyroxine 50mcg a day and 40mcg of T3 split up 10mcg 4 times a day. I seem to be getting heart palpations a little bit and chest discomfort is this normal when you start on T3?
Who else uses Just T3 on its own and how have your results been on it?

There are many people that have used t-3 only for thyroid, but it is not the most healthy choice by people. What is suggested is to get the adrenals in proper order and then to use erfa which is comparable to the old armour thyroid increasing it slowly 1/2 grain ever 2 -4 weeks at first once reaching up to 2 grains then increase 1/4 grain every 6 weeks. Another factor which needs to be done is to monitor the adrenals if the person seems not to tolerate the increase of dosage well. When person has blood test for thyroid rt3 is also checked to make sure that it does not go up significantly. If it does go up one may reduce thyroid by 1/2 grain then add in small dosage of plain t-3 to help alleviate symptoms. My self and alot other people that start synthetic thyroid notice there SHBG going up expotentially because synthetic meds in some people cause liver to secrete higher SHBG, but natural does this as severe. Being on 100 mcgs of t4 and 50 mcgs of t-3 my symptoms got worse even with cortef. I checked the reverse t-3 and they nearly doubled !! I’m waiting for the new erfa to come to be able to take it sublingal which can by pass my altered digestive tract. I have tried compounded, new armour, natural thriod, t3 and t4 nothing has worked. Since taking my t-3 up to 75 mcgs a day I could feel my testosterone dropping due to the increased shbg from the synthetic drugs.
t3 split 4 times a day you will run into competition from minerals from food and also supplements. Taking it twice a day is a pain enough but 4 would drive a person in sane.
100 mcgs of t-4 we have found in several people go right to reverse t-3. Once over 50 mcgs there is an expodential conversion that occurs in many ill people. Several people have come to us on t-3 only at 150 mcgs a day and when looked at shbg then averaged over 80!! If a person has a low shbg then synthetic can increase it dramatically. Why we like armour because this does not happen. If it does then it is rare.November 1, 2009 at 11:53 pm #3852MetalMXMember@hardasnails1973 2096 wrote:

T4 only made me put weight on quickly talking days, synthetic synthroid.
Australian Compounded thyroid sucked completely. Didn’t work.
Slow Release T3 sucked also.
My SHBG has been high. huge even.
Now on Cytomel maybe things are a bit better temps are finally up more 36.2 but they are constantly fluctuating. Up and down with 1 degree difference. Muscles have really filled out though and fluid retention is gone and i notice i am FINALLY feeling warm. I’m on 40mcg which i started with per day. Is this a ok dose to start with?
So far i have just had high cortisol whenever checked. In urine 24hour and morning blood tests recently. So what to do about this?
The problem is i don’t eat during the day (depends on the day) i have no appetite from morning till maybe 9pm or 10pm for whatever reason. I have just started drinking some protein shakes. I just want to drink salty fluids. Maybe reason being my cortisol is elevated then when it drops in the evening my appetite improves.
I still have to do 24hr aldosterone since it was low in blood test but i think i’m having reverse T3 issues with elevated cortisol and possibly isolated low aldosterone.
Your suggestions on what i should do?

Isn’t that just too much thyroid?
Since switching to T3 my parasthesia is gone! no more tingling in arms and legs and it feels like my peripheral neuropathy is beginning to be healed completely! my arm and leg muscles are filling out, i feel much better. I am definitely sticking to T3. My sex drive is also starting to come back.
With Armour, or Synthetic T4 i was having on going tingling and severe hypothyroid symptoms also with peripheral neuropathy issues.

and keep eye on shbgSo if a person is having some hyper symptoms like heart palpitations, slight chest discomfort but feels he is still hypo then cortisol would be the issue?
So just test morning cortisol on say 50mcg of cytomel a day?

Yes that is why one should check the adrenals after rise in thyroid meds.

Kk.
Since starting cytomel i seem to have gained a large amount of fluid/weight well its about 5kilos or 10 pounds. It doesn’t feel like much fat just a lot of muscle kind of filling out or something its very weird. And i feel so exhausted, muscles also feel weak oddly enough.
Weird is an understatement.
Adrenals to blame?
