I think i am on my way.

I have hashimoto’s thyroiditis which is being treated with armour. While their is now a underlying adrenal insufficiency. I have low aldosterone levels and slightly elevated renin levels. So maybe Florinef will be all that i need to get better. Waiting on a saliva cortisol to come back.

I treated my undermethylation with P5P, Methylb12 and Folinic Acid and saw unbelieveable improvements in my life.

Also treated my mercury poisoning with various supplements/fish avoidance and intravenous vitamin C. And another supplement i will be adding to finish.

I am 20 and have been having chronic health problems for about a year now but i finally feel like i’m inches away from the finish line.

So my issues we’re in order of importance:

    1. Thyroid/Adrenal
    2. Methylation
    3. Toxicity/Detoxification/Mercury

No doctor helped me they frankly didn’t know shit. I had a endocrinologist i saw MISS my hashimoto’s by not testing antibodies!!! Thought my elevated TSH of 7.8 was just mild hypothyroidism. They didn’t test aldosterone or renin levels. And saw a elevated ACTH and cortisol levels which they couldn’t decipher why both we’re elevated. “Unknown significance” they called it.

I don’t know that any of us are ‘cured’, because endocrine issues are an ever changing dynamic. BUT- I do believe that the more we learn about our own issues and the more we are willing to be flexible with supplementation, meds etc, the closer we become to ‘cured’.

I consider myself cured, because I understand my health problems, have kept an open mind as far as treatment, have been willing to experiment and know that as things can change, I have the tools to get myself back on track.

I do have to say that I did struggle for a long time. Part of that was due to just listening to one view as far as treatment, and I think, my age- I am 55, I believe that as we age it is harder to get balanced again. This site and Dr M have been invaluable in my healing, as I feel I was chasing my tail til I got my ferritin levels up to what Dr M considers optimal. That enabled me to tolerate Vit D3 and methylcobalamin which also have helped tremendously. I am now in the process of weaning off of adrenal support.

MetalMX- You are very young, and smart enough to be taking responsibility for your own health, which will help you through out your life- congratulations!

    Thanks Alot :).

Im planning on going to medical school now. I see many people with similar issues and they just have no idea what is happening to them and they aren’t getting answers and i usually see the answer in regards to their symptoms which can definitely be helped, no matter how chronic the problem.

How was the undermethylation diagnosed and can you define the improvements?

Yes and who told you about that 😀
Its great that you are going to pursue medical degree, but I would not until you are fully recovered because I have patients that had to adjust their cortisol dosages to help deal with the stress of school. To not throw your self in the fire so fast, but pace your self

Yes it was all HAN the mastermind who uncovered all these issues for me. My mum is also improving from these same three supplements rather quickly she has only been on them for a week with more energy, better sleep, better mental functioning and so forth. While doctors have been baffeled as to why she is unwell as they have with me.

Yes i am definitly not at a stage where i can jump into studying medicine. I know i still need to recover and just plan on doing some work for a while and getting a more normal routine going in my life.

HAN, how do you feel about Sam-e (if well tolerated) for undermethylation?

    #3781

Sam-e is a straight shot thats for sure, but one has to be careful not to get the cycle spinning out of control. I recommend it for burned out athletes who are over trained and under eating. When ever situation with depleted gluthione levels then I may use it at 200 mgs once or BID along with supporting factors at proper ratios. I tell people to start at lower dosages and if they have no symptoms then increase after 4-5 days slowly. Methylation is take caution and practioner needs to understand the intricate biochemistry that is going on to properly modulate things.

I have used SAMe 200mg and seem to feel unwell and have some chest discomfort from it and generalised weakness not sure why.

Whereas another brand i used before worked well… which is odd.

I work brilliantly well with folinic, methylb12 and P5P though.

Wondering in terms of your question the benefits i noticed we’re:

Improved mood (even though i have health problems my mood has never been as good since i started these supps), improved energy, feeling like you want to be more social and accomplish things in life/easier to make plans, much easier regulation of bodyweight, mental quickness/sharpness improved, more regular/improved sleeping patterns, feeling of generalised relaxation. Feeling much more happy.

I did a ONE evaluation at genova diagnostics which HAN then interpreted for me. It shows you where your metabolic blocks basically are.

Their is also another way to test this which i plan on doing soon at heartfixer.com which tests for over 30 genes and provides supplementary/dietary recommendations.

If you have the money go for it.

The ONE evaluation cost me 500-600 dollars.

The nutrigenomics genetic testing is 500 and 300 for interpretation.

For the amount of information you get from both i think it is well worth it,
at least it is for me.

You just have to know what that information means. Not too many people can really sift through it to fully understand it. I spend some times 1-2 days on case non stop researching, but in the end they the person has sound concretes scientific based information. After doing it for some time I can come up with scenerio in a shorter amount of time. I spent over a year learning that if the Dr knew how to read them the answer was there, but had no clue.
We are going to start implementing this in our practice as it is expanding at phenomonal rate. We are taking on all degenerative diseases and treating them a nutritional, hormonal, and lifestyle approach.

After suffering from chronic fatigue, depression, endocrine disorders, insomnia and being “Experimented On” by at least 20 different Medical Professionals from various disciplines, tried on at least 30 – 40 different types of Rx Medications from 1992 until currently as of this writing, I finally scraped up enough pennies, aluminum cans, plastic bottles to go seek treatment from Dr. M !:D I am Disabled and on SSI and unemployed due to my chronic conditions 🙁 (Most of them that a majority of the members on this site have). I am 46 yrs old, former extraordinary athlete, US Army Veteran, California Peace Officer, and just an overall good person, like a majority of you out there 😮 who just happened to have developed many of the illness’, sypmtoms and “Frustrating” conditions which many of us on this site and others share or have in common in some way shape or form in which we seek “The Best” or better than the typical “Drive thru type of Medical Treatment” which alot of us have experienced, and after receiving “A Band Aid” type of treatment that is generally dispensed in many doctor’s offices everywhere, I have researched and had to learn “As much as possible about what is wrong with me medically” and after trial and error, alot of suffering and expense, time, Rx Prescriptions, and more often than not, I have yet to be “CURED” which is the subject and question asked by chipdouglas. I will say this though, since I began treatment with Dr. M, and experiencing with my own eyes and ““Seeing him work his medical skills and his GENIOUS Medical Mind at work” for me and my medical conditions, some which I listed above, My first day of meeting him for my intake screening/examination, I felt soooooooo much better, like a placebo effect, because I felt and I was and I am VERY CONFIDENT and excited to think and feel that if any Doctor can “Heal Me” so to speak, Dr. M can !!!! I have been under his care for only 2 months or so, so I can’t say that I am cured yet, but I do know that I feel 100% more secure/confident and my hopes are extremely higher than what I have experienced in my long history of seeking medical treatment from many Physicians over a very long time of seeking help for my medical conditions. I am so confident that Dr. M will CURE me, If one CAN BE CURED!, that when I am cured (or very close to it) I will be jumping for joy and I will want to share the good news to you all on this site, or at least I will try to help anyone who wants to LEARN from me and my experiences regarding medical conditions etc… that I may possible help someone else out with in a “LEARNING SENSE” not a diagnosis or attempting to say “What worked for me, will work for you” because everyone should note and learn that I am not a Doctor nor is it appropriate for anyone who is NOT QUALIFIED to diagnose and/or tell others what Medicine one should use etc…. Please note: One of the rules that Dr. M has on this site is that his patients are not to disclose, discuss, specific medical treatments that he provides, but instead, we should read the forums on this site to LEARN and help others, without breaking the “Doctor/Patient Confidentiality” rule, as I am sure most people could very well understand, especially if you are a member on this site:p Happy learning and thanks for reading my long reply to chipdouglas’ simple question.
