This is my first post so forgive me if I mess something up. I have researched elevated SHBG but am having a hard time trying to figure out why mine is/has been elevated above normal levels for the past few years. I have what many describe as low T symptoms, fatigue and low libido. I am trying to get an idea of the root cause for the elevated SHBG. I went to an endo with not much help she told me I was fine and basically that was it. She tested my Insulin but told me that it was fine, I do not have those labs. My urologist put me on Andro last year and my SHBG did start to drop, got down to 50 nmol before I called it quits, but I suspect my E2 was geting out of hand causing my libido isues to even get worse. I will say that my energy levels seemed to get much better while on the andro gel and my TT numbers came up to the 800 level but he never tested anything other then SHBG and TT. Any input would be welcome. A little more information that may or may not help. I am 44 5’7″ 155 LBS and in fairly good shape and work out 3 times a week.

A few of my labs from my GP (Only Med 5000ui Vit D Daily)
    T4 Direct 1.57 ng/dl (.82-1.77)
    TSH 2.53 uIU/mL (.45-4.5
    Albumin, Serum 4.8 g/dL
    estradiol 22.4 pg/ml (Roche ECLIA methodology) 7.6-42.6
    shbg 72nmol/l (14.5-48.4)
    TT 488 ng/dl (292-897)
    FT 5.9 ng/dl (4.8-25)
    Vit D 65 ng/ml (30-100)
    Cholesterol 216 mg/dl (H) (80-199)
    LH 9.7 mIU/ml (H) (.8-7.6)
    FSH 11.7 mIU/ml (H) (.7-11)
    Albumin 4.5 g/dL (3.5-5.5)
    Prolactin 8.2 ng/ml (4.0-15.2)
    PSA .6 ng/mL (0.0-4.0)

Elevated SHBG can be due to inflammation in the liver, GI or systemically, malabsorption, and anorexia nervosa. It main mean you are toxic .
