    Hello guys,

You might remember my other posts regarding my symptoms and elevated ferritin, but normal transferrin saturation and serum iron.

Quickly summarized: minor ED, low sexdrive, fatigue and lethargic, demands lot of sleep, etc.

My ferritin has been slowly rising from March 2009 (first measured) at 330 to late 2009 where I measured 500.

At the time I measured 500 I also had a phlebotomy and when I now measured in January, ferritin had dropped to 165.

I just recently got to see an hematologist after waiting for a year and she confirmed that I do NOT have HH and that this was especially strengthened since my ferritin dropped so much after only one phlebotomy. According to her, it would drop only a small percentage if I had iron overload.

They have no advice to give me and can only explain the elevated ferritin with an infection or a cold. Remember that it has been elevated and rising for at least a year.

What can I make of this? Should I just go on with my life and pretend that I`m well?

I do function in society and my job to some extent, but I do not feel that I am functioning like a 25 year old male should be.

    CRP is also normal.

    THANKS VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE.

    Johnny
