It is very low but you need to look at other factors as what symptoms are you having and could this be symptoms of some other hormone imbalance, lifestyle, or hidden stressor (emotional, biological, chemical, environmental, ect). If you are near Dr M and in california make the trip to see him as I would highly recommend it.

Im 20 years of age. I had Total T levels of 10.1 (10-32) Around January of this year.

After fixing methylation issues (undermethylation) with P5P, Methylcobalamin and Folinic Acid my Total T went to 21. It Doubled!

My SHBG is still high and Free T low due to most likely low cortisol but with these simple supplements i have fixed a lot of things. I mean a lot!

I used TRT it caused fat gain and muscle loss for me LOL why… maybe because it crushed my cortisol levels and shut down my HPTA and with that probably made my SHBG even higher making my free T even lower than to start with. Also it increased my E levels decreasing my Already low thyroid functioning (i have hashimoto’s) so you can see how certain things you think might help can just end up screwing you big time.

At 21 you should have no trouble increasing this when looking at the whole picture as HAN stated.

I have taught grasshopper very well. MetalX you should look at having a career as a natural health consultant because there are not to many good ones in austrailia.

As far as the main point of this thread please look at the following to rule out before condemning your self to TRT
    1) proper sleep hygiene
    2) identifying hidden stressors -emotional, physical trama, EMF, environmental toxins, undereating, over training, infections
    3) proper fat combination – low saturated fats and low fat diets
    4) proper nutrient balance – iodine, zinc, selenium, vitamin E.
    5) adrenal/thyroid imbalance
    6) methylation – potential genetic mutation
    7) brain chemistry imbalance

    Hans,

#3- low saturated fats and low fat diets. Do you mean or recommened low fat diets? I thought you liked fats, especially the good ones like egg yolks, nuts, seeds, fish oil, organic meats, fish oil. etc.?

i dont sleep as well as i used to. i wake up at least one or two times a night and i cant sleep in past eight hours. i know lack of sleep can cause low t but ive also heard that low t can cause sleep disturbances. another thing ive noticed is my memory isn’t as good. i forget peoples names, walk into rooms and forget what im doing. its nothing horrible but little things i notice that i never used to do.

You are 21 yrs old right? What major symptoms do you have besides sleep issues and memory? Since you are 21 yrs old, do you consume alot of alcohol? Do you feel weak and tired? Do you have a normal libido? Do you use Opiod prescription drugs and/or illicit opiods? Are you taking an SSRI? I discovered that my T levels were low at the age of 39, at 21 yrs old, your T levels should be higher than what you have. Perhaps you should get a more in depth lab test done to check other contributing lab markers. There are so many things that can contribute to your dilemma, but by searching this site forum, you are looking at a good place to learn about things like low T etc…. When I first began noticing the negative effects of Low T, I started researching on the Internet, checked out books from my local Library, and basically learned as much as I could on the subject. The more you read and research, the better you become in understanding “The medical language” of symptoms and anatomy, endocrine disorders, and the “How to’s” of going about seeking treatment with Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT). You are on the right track here! Good Luck
