What affect can adderall have on body composition. The reason I ask is because I have always had thick pads of body fat in certain areas of my body that have remained despite diet and training and regardless of how low my weight goes. I was chubby in a “female” sort of way as a child and teen, I know that girls at this age are just skinny and do not have feminine fat distribution yet, so even thou I am a male and at this time I was just a boy or teen, I feel this is the best way to describe it. I am also usually soft and undefined despite muscle mass and strength.

Upon starting adderall and zoloft at 21 I right away for the first time became lean and some what vascular with a lower body fat that was even evident in face and skin on neck whilst not working out at all or eating nearly as healthy as I had in the past. I am just curious what mechanism could be responsible for adderall possibly correcting nutrient partitioning(or so it may seem. Could it be affecting adrenals and pushing them to work as they should have been anyway, or could it be pushing thyroid to work the way it should have been or maybe increase in dopamine?

Even now, I have had family member comment on how different I look since starting to take adderall again, I have no changed my diet at all. I don’t think of it as an enhancement because I feel like it is some how partially compensating for a deficit that most others do not have, as they receive better results with much less training and a diet that is not close to as strict as mine and with out adderall.

I take it for ADD and to help with my extreme over sleeping that has been a huge problem my whole life. I am currently working on getting my life long circadian rhythm problem on track with the help of adderall, so please excuse any rambling or run on sentences in my Post( Hardly sleep last night). Thanks

I can’t answer your question but can tell you that, although I lost weight after starting adderall – due to decreased appetite – I have not seen significant body recompositioning.

    I wish I did!!
